During the pandemic, a group of friends and I got together for play readings. The Importance of Being Earnest had us in stitches, and we knew that it would be a perfect show to help bring joy and laughter to audiences who had just been through a lot. We, and the audience, found it to be just as funny today as it was when it was first performed in 1895.

We focused on impressionist paintings and colors to draw our audience into Victorian England. ur set, costumes and performances sought to provide a beautiful escape. The script is script is engaging and fun, though it runs a bit long- my adaptation of the script brought the runtime from 2.5 hours down to a tidy 1.5 hours.

With petty arguments about names, "proper" behavior and, well... muffins, we had a great time bringing this summertime story to the winter in Breckenridge.
